Helpful Tips

The Prince and the Firebird Greeting Cards
In 1997, the late conductor and founder of the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Dr. Frederick Fennell, edited an arrangement of the score of The Firebird [1919] for Ludwig Music Publishing Company. The original artwork showing the Prince reaching for the Firebird was too large to incorporate fully, so the excised Firebird was used, resulting in a striking red, gold and cream cover for the music score. In 2010, The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” recorded Dr. Fennell’s edited arrangement, and requested permission to use the Firebird artwork for the cover of their CD of the same name.

There are so many special occasions that these "Price And The Fire Bird" Note Cards would be perfect for whether it be a family member or a friend. Everyone faces challenges in life that result in transformation and rising above the situation. What better expresses triumph than the story of the Fire Bird so beautifully illustrated on these cards. You won't have trouble finding reasons to give these to bring the resilience of the Fire Bird to any occasion. They will be treasured by the recipients to become a touching and inspiring keepsake.

Product History

About the Artist
Margaret Pauls, a native Clevelander, has been delighting her clients with her own hand-made and imported jewelry since 1976 under her well-known Pegasus label. Her original designs combine natural stones with silver, copper, brass, bronze or gold, offered at affordable prices.

Along with her jewelry, Ms. Pauls is also a commissioned artist, becoming serious about this aspect of her talent when she was asked to execute Art Deco-style drawings for a friend's new restaurant years ago. Since 1979 she has created Christmas and other greeting cards as gifts for family and friends, and currently offers her artwork and photography for sale as signed and numbered prints and sets of cards, as well as on items such as key chains, magnets and photobooks.

She created artwork for various music scores published by Ludwig Music, and was asked to illustrate the cover of the score for The Firebird that was edited by conductor Frederick Fennell. In 2010, she received a call from The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” for permission to use the Firebird artwork for the cover of their soon-to-be-released CD of the same name.

More recently, she began a collaboration called From the Heart Creations with friend and stained-glass artist Sharon Martyn, who uses wirework and crystal beads to fashion ornaments and pendants and small frames with Ms. Pauls’ artwork.

Her interest in the art of pysanky, intricately dyed Easter eggs, stems from her Polish heritage, and she has been creating the beautiful eggs and teaching others the art for over forty years.
